Context Based Networking
Different emerging applications have varying network requirements that must be mapped on to choices in a heterogeneous network infrastructure. This problem is particularly acute in the case of mobile telephones and PDAs that must support a variety of increasingly sophisticated applications with varying QoS demand and have a variety of wireless network interfaces. This drives the need for context-based networking, in which the application, access, and provider context all contribute to QoS and policy based routing.
