Resilience Strategy : Castle Analogy

Defence: Strong Walls and heavy gate

Defend: Have strong walls and keep the gate closed

Challenge : Barbarians at the gate!

Scenario 1: Barbarian tools don't even scratch the stone wall...no errors are are detected (NO DETECT STAGE)

Scenario 2: Barbarians bring a Trebuchet along, it starts damaging the wall, stones are coming out.......

Detect : Detect the damage occurring to the wall. (reason unknown)

Remediate : Throw stones from the top of the caste; pour boiling oil on the troops below.

Recover: After the attack is over (and assuming the castle was held), repair the damages to the wall and gate to bring it back to previous strength.

Diagnose: Find what was the cause of the damage to the walls : current walls cannot withstand Trebuchet attacks

Refine: Reinforce the walls and gate to withstand future Trebuchet attacks.
